‘Thrift Wars’ Goes Roaring ’20s

22 Dec

{Thrift Wars: Goes Roaring ’20s} Thrifty Vintage Chic is going head-to-head with Sammy Davis Vintage in an episode of “Thrift Wars” — a brand new show on YouTube.

The objective: to replicate a designer look — inspired by the Roaring ’20s — for the least amount of money. So Sammy Davis and I duked it out in a Manhattan Goodwill. Now, it is up to you to determine whose look matched the designer’s closest while maintaining the era’s authenticity and for the thriftiest price!

Ladies, you both did great! I see ++ for both of you: here’s what I would have done.

I would have gotten the D&G handbag. For $30, it’s a good deal and I believe in making investment dressing purchases even though I am at a thrift…would I use it again and again and again?

I would also have gotten the more expensive shoes; again because they flowed better with the outfit, being closed toe, and would have more versatility for future wear, even though they cost more. I don’t recall if there was a dollar figure that had to matched, only that both of you wanted to spend as little as possible.

Sammi, kudoes on the skirt and top and overall match of the look.
